The Marines were a small strike team of four marines sent to the Group 935 facility in the asylum to extract an operative inserted into the group only named "Peter", of which may have been his real first name or a codename (the voice that called him by this name was that of an American). Their squad leader was Tank Dempsey, who was the only survivor of the mission. When they reached the asylum, Peter was nowhere to be found. Tank doesn't remember any of this as his memory was wiped by element 115.
Nacht Der UntotenEdit
There also was another group of Marines in Nacht Der Untoten. It is unknown if it is the same group of Marines, but if it was, then it is possible that Nacht Der Untoten took place near Verruckt. There appears to have been a larger squad of soldiers than 4, but some were probably killed off during and after the plane crash as shown in the cutscene.
